S. RY. on top of railroad lantern for Southern Railway. Not a globe we see often, a Green one! As it was brought in, we have left the patina on this Awesome treasure! About 16"H with it's handle. Kerosene railroad signal lantern. Rustic late 1800's with patent dates that are still legible for the most part. 1885 to 1896 looks to be the dates and it looks like the last date marked looks to read May 28, 1886 or 1896. Awesome! Lantern itself is about 10"H x 7.25"W - Looks complete with fuel canister. Holding a light up to dark green globe, one can see a wick in there! ~Az
