#25 • Reggie & Flossie Meaders Face Jug

Part of Clayton Winter Pottery Auction (timed auction by K and B Auction)

High bid $65.00

Status: Sold

7"T brown glazed grotesque style pottery piece features a face with a crooked mouth bearing 3 clay teeth and rather unfortunate looking ears and nose. His beady eyes have dark brown centers and his hair is incised. Slab pottery glazed red hat with turned up brim. Dark brown decoration on top appears to have a small piece missing as there is a rough end on the 'rope' as well as a spot on hat that is missing glaze where it probably attached. There is a jug handle at the back of the head however the opening at the top is just enough for an air hole. Signed on bottom: 'Reggie Flossie Meaders'. Other than mentioned above, piece is in good condition. f
