Nice 5 gallon handled Blue Ribbon Brand stoneware shoulder jug made by Buckeye Pottery Co of Macomb, IL. Buckeye Pottery opened in 1882 and began using Blue Ribbon Brand in the very early 1900's. This #5 handled jug is a great example. Dark brown on the top with a cream body, cobalt script "5" along with the Blue Ribbon Brand logo in cobalt. This jug is in very good condition for its age and use with very light wear. There is a small blob of excess stoneware under the logo, two shallow rim chips and a few small bottom rim chips. Measures 17.5"H x 11.75" in diameter at the base. KS
