Part of Clayton Winter Pottery Auction (timed auction by K and B Auction)

High bid $181.00

Status: Sold

Sometime after 1883, Charles Kline and his Father-In-Law William Brown produced pottery in the Atlanta area for one year only. This is a brown churn with lug handles on opposite sides and is in very good condition for its age and use. There are two decorative lines ringing the crock just above the handles. It is stamped "Kline & Brown Manufacturers" just under the rim with a hand incised "4." There are a few small pieces of excess pottery under the glaze and light wear from use. There is not a lid or dasher. Stands 16.5"H. KS
