#43 • Coffeeville Stoneware Co 5 Gallon Handled Jug

Part of Clayton Winter Pottery Auction (timed auction by K and B Auction)

High bid $42.00

Status: Sold

One of the lesser common stoneware manufacturers, Coffeeville Stoneware Company of Coffeeville, Kansas made this nice handled stoneware 5 gallon jug. Their pretty cobalt sunflower logo is on the side opposite the handle as well as a cobalt "5" with decorative flourish on either side. It appears that this company opened for business in 1909. Top and handle are brown and the body is cream. There are a few upper and lower rim chips (some under the glaze) along with some light wear from use - good condition for a jug of this age. The logo and 5 stamps are light but easy to read. This jug stands 18"H x 11.75" in diameter at the base. KS
