#97 • Ben BS Salter, Delray, GA 2 Gallon Churn

Part of Clayton Winter Pottery Auction (timed auction by K and B Auction)

High bid $192.00

Status: Sold

This great and hard to find 2 gallon churn by Ben Salter (1847 - 1930) of Delray, GA has one handle and a 1 5/8" rim. Looks to be a salt glaze. It is marked with an incised "2" under the rim to one side of the handle and with a stamped "B. S. Salter" also under the rim on the other side of the handle. There are small bubbles (some burst) in the glaze but it is in exceptionally good condition for its age. It measures 12 3/4"H. KS
