Queena Stovall (20 December 1887 – 27 June 1980) was an American folk artist. Sometimes called "The Grandma Moses of Virginia," she is famous for depicting everyday events in the lives of both white and black families in rural settings. Also known as a memory painted like Helen LaFrance. This is a signed print (signed lower right). The subject should be well known to all of us here. End of the Line is an Onsite Estate Auction. Auctioneer is standing on a box over a table taking bids while people carry their items off and others are searching through their winnings for a treasure. I get the feeling it may some remaining family members looking on from the porch. You can practically hear the auctioneer calling out bids in the background. Print appears in very good condition with just a few specks of foxing starting at the bottom of the paper by the title. There is a water in the matte at the top right of the print, but there is no visible damage to the print itself. This is a wonderful piece we can all relate to. The visaible area of the print is 18" tall x 24" long. Framed under glass with a wood frame that really has the same feel and even green tones of the print. 25½" x 31½" framed under glass. there are a few scuffs and marks on the frame. jrb.
