#79 • Unusual Vintage Red Dietz Lanterns w/Long Swivel Handles

Part of Yellow Cabin Fever Winter Mega Auction (timed auction by K and B Auction)

High bid $37.01

Status: Sold

Very unusual but also very handy.  These lanterns have long wooden handles that attach to the lanterns by means of a swivel bracket.  This would allow the lanterns to be used to light areas out of arm's reach - upper areas of barns, lower exterior of a boat from the deck, storm basements - most anywhere a flashlight would be used today.  Swivel bracket keeps the lanterns level.  Both lanterns are Dietz; one lantern is marked "Fitall" on the glass.  Both measure approximately 58" in length. Both pieces are in solid for age; well-weathered from age and use. JB/KS
