Winchester lever action Sporting rifle- model 1873- Third model- chambered in 22 long. Made in 1888 according to serial number. 43.25" overall with a 24" hexagonal barrel. Tube load. The Model 1873 .22 Rimfire Rifle was the first .22 caliber repeating rifle in America was introduced in 1884 and discontinued in 1904. Winchester sold a little more than 19,000 .22 caliber Model 1873s. Missing dust cover. All guns need to be checked for function by a gunsmith before use. Though we believe to be authentic, it has yet to be third party authenticated. BP
