Part of Red Gallery - Memorial Day Extravaganza Auction - Day 1 (timed auction by K and B Auction)
High bid $325.00
Status: Sold
1890 Winchester Model 1873 Lever Action Rifle-.22 Long Caliber. Featuring round barrel, wooden walnut stock and foregrip, adjustable rear sight and fixed front sight and brass buttplate. Marked on top of barrel "Winchester Repeating Arms New Haven CT. / Kings improvement patented March 22, 1866. October 16, 1860" faded, hard-to-read, "22-long" behind sight is unreadable and "Model 1873" on back strap. "22 Cal Long" on bottom of carrier is well marred. Serial number under lever action indicates production in 1890. Interesting note: This is amongst the rarest of the Winchesters. They made fewer 1873’s in .22 than any other caliber (and this is a .22 long), and this was the first model Winchester ever made in .22. Stock is loose and dust cover is missing. All guns need to be checked for function by a gunsmith before use. Though we believe to be authentic, it has yet to be third party authenticated. BP
