High bid $550.00

Status: Sold

1902 Winchester Model 1873 Lever Action Rifle-.22 Short Caliber. Featuring octagonal barrel, wooden walnut stock and foregrip, adjustable rear sight and fixed front sight, metal buttplate and dust cover. Marked on top of barrel "Winchester Repeating Arms New Haven Conn USA. / King's improvement patented March 22, 1866. October 16, 1860", "22 Short" behind sight and "Model 1873" on back strap. "22 Cal Short" on bottom of carrier. Serial number under lever action indicates production in 1902. Interesting note: This is amongst the rarest of the Winchesters. They made fewer 1873’s in .22 than any other caliber (and this is a .22 short), and this was the first model Winchester ever made in .22. All guns need to be checked for function by a gunsmith before use. Though we believe to be authentic, it has yet to be third party authenticated. BP
