Bausch & Lomb No. 44556 brass and black iron microscope- which stands approximately 12" T x 3.75" W x 5.75" D. There are two objectives- One is marked 44x and the other with 2/3. A pivoting & swivel joint holds the original mirror and fork (missing one screw to attach mirror to fork). Black painted iron U shaped base can tilt for ease of use. On the base of the antique microscope, the serial number 44556 is labeled with "Bausch & Lomb Optical Company, Rochester, New York" on neck. This optical instrument is believed to have been manufactured in 1904. An excellent collector’s item, this vintage Bausch & Lomb microscope is great condition for age and is ready for display and may even still be usable! BP
