Antique Victorian Brass Sewing Bird with platform to hold pin cushion. Ornate brass designs and has original key clamp. Bird has a large faceted faux stone on top, though a bit of center now. Patent date is embossed on wing. It's slightly legible. looks like it reads "1857" - Cleaned up, we might be able to see more of the lettering. Squeeze the back tail feathers and bird opens it's beak to hold your scissors, threads, etc. The antique metal Sewing Scissors have the Letters LUZ on them. Normal aging and wear. Rustic Victorian that could be cleaned. ~Az
