Status: Sold

This four-panel folding screen was made in Hong Kong, as indicated by the original labels still affixed. The screen features hand-painted floral and bird motifs on a golden-toned ground, rendered in vibrant colors with attention to botanical and avian details. Visible are metal corner fittings, adding durability and a decorative element. The back of the screen is plain with a muted gold finish. The artwork includes an artist's signature and stamp, providing evidence of its handcrafted origins. Signs of age are visible, including some staining and spots, which are typical in older lacquered or painted screens. The overall construction and style align with mid-20th century Hong Kong export decor, reflecting both aesthetic and functional craftsmanship. This piece offers insight into traditional artistry from the region. 72" tall x 72" wide. jrb.
