This stoneware face jug was hand crafted and signed by Alva Gusta (A.G.) Meaders in 1988, marking it as one of his earlier works after beginning his pottery career full-time in 1987. A. G. Meaders (1923–1994), a member of the renowned Meaders family of potters in White County, Georgia, produced pottery for only a short period until his passing in 1994. His output is estimated at about 200 face jugs, making surviving pieces highly collectible due to their scarcity and his distinguished family legacy. This jug features expressive facial details, applied ears, and prominent eyes. 10" tall. No condition issues. jrb.
