This stoneware jug features glaze and a form consistent with Edgefield pottery, known for its role in South Carolina's ceramic tradition. The jug includes a single robust handle and small spout, with a brown alkaline glaze giving it its classic appearance. Its smooth surface and utilitarian design are characteristic of 19th-century Edgefield district craftsmanship. There are no maker's marks visible. A fine example for those interested in Southern utilitarian ceramics or American historical pottery. 12" tall, no condition issues. jrb.
