This is a wooden six-drawer spool cabinet originally used for storing sewing thread, specifically J. & P. Coats' "Best Six Cord Spool Cotton." The cabinet features black panels with gold painted motifs on the drawer fronts, ornate metal pulls, and traditional dovetail joints. The interior of each drawer is lined with green felt. The back of the cabinet bears the stenciled company advertisement, adding notable provenance to this piece. This cabinet provides insight into early 20th-century textile merchandising. 19" tall x 17½" deep x 24½" wide. jrb.
