#58 • Older Daniel Boone Painting after Ranney

Part of Pop-Up Pottery, Art, & Books Online Auction (timed auction by K and B Auction)

High bid $9.00

Status: Sold

20x24" painting on artist board by unknown artist; after William Ranney's 'Boone's First View of Kentucky' masterpiece. While I have no room to judge, this artwork is much simpler and more primitive than Mr. Ranneys. The edges of the board have damage/wear; one corner is missing. There are a few scratches on the front image as well as overall craquelure. The back also has wear, missing pieces, discoloration. Still a neat historical Americana image!
